New Official Title

So I am now officially a "Minivan Mom!" I was so resistant for years thinking I would never drive a minivan (rather an SUV of some sort.) I mean, minivans are for middle-aged women (or older) with lots of kids. But who am I kidding? I am a middle-aged woman (is 31 middle-aged?...not quite, but close!) and I have 2 kids with the possibility of more down the road if that's what the Lord wants for us. So even though in my mind I am still 23 & just out of college, I must face it...I am not 23; I have 2 kids; and I need more space to haul these kids & all their stuff around (car seats, strollers, bags, etc!)

Thus, I am now the proud owner of a 2008 Honda Odyssey. I must say, it's rather posh for a minivan, much nicer than the minivans I remember growing up (not that the one my parents had was bad; minivans just didn't have all the fancy features that they have these days.) I mean it practically drives itself! I've always considered myself a rather "no frills" kind of person. In fact Chuck thinks I'm a "granola girl." I am definitely NOT a granola girl, but he thinks so & he likes it that way, so I'll let him think what he wants! Hee-hee!

Anyway, we're enjoying the van so far. Landry absolutely loves it & told his friends at school all about his new van..."It's sooooo big! And soooo cool!" My favorite thing is the power doors. With the push of a button, both doors open on their own. It's so great. I open the doors, Landry walks around & climbs into the van & his car seat while I buckle Micah into his, and then all I have to do is make sure Landry is buckled up & off we go!! Before it was, walk around the car; open the door for Landry; stand there while he tried to climb in (a little harder in an SUV); walk back to the other side to strap Micah in; then walk back to Landry's side to buckle him in; then finally walk back around to the driver's side & off we go. Whew! That makes me tired just thinking about it! It really wasn't that bad, but I can see that this new power door thing is really going to save me some time in the future!! Plus it's so roomy! And we plan to take a few road trips this summer, so it will be nice to have more space.

...I guess I can deal with being a "minivan mom!"
